Percussion Instrument Arrangement – Y Theatre (Wind Band & Symphony Orchestra Events, 20–80 Participants)

For the 2025 Wind Band and Symphony Orchestra competitions held at Youth Square Y Theatre, Chai Wan from March 17 to 21, the organizer will provide the following percussion instruments to participating ensembles. This arrangement is made to help reduce backstage congestion.

Provided Percussion Instruments and Models:

  • Timpani: Ludwig copper set of 4

  • Glockenspiel: Coray 2.5 bells

  • Xylophone: Toyama 4.0

  • Marimba: Adams 4.3

  • Drum Set: Yamaha Stage Custom

  • Snare Drum: Pearl Philharmonic 14”

  • Bass Drum: 36” Concert Bass Drum

  • Suspended Cymbal: Zildjian 16”

  • Crash Cymbals: Zildjian 16”

? Important Notes:

  • The above instruments are only available at Y Theatre from March 17–21.
    For all other competition venues and categories, including string orchestra, Chinese orchestra, percussion ensemble, percussion solo & ensemble, and orchestral ensemble groups, no instruments (including timpani) will be provided except for the upright piano. All instruments must be arranged by the participants or teams themselves.

  • All provided percussion instruments will be fixed on stage. Teams may use them as needed but must not move them from their original positions.

  • Except for timpani, if the provided instruments do not meet a team's needs, teams may bring their own. The team representative must declare the number of performers and any large instruments via the online system at least 14 days before the competition date.

Note: Due to venue restrictions, timpani for March 17–21 events at Y Theatre will be provided by the organizer, and teams are not allowed to bring their own timpani into the venue.

  • Stage chairs and music stands are fixed in place and must not be moved.
    Teams may rearrange their seating formation using the available chairs and stands, but must not remove or relocate any extra chairs or stands.
