International Professional Musical Instrument Repair Association (IPMIRA) Accredited Course
Overview:
This course is jointly organized by the Hong Kong Joint School Music Association (JSMA) and the Hong Kong Competitive Assessment Federation, and led by local professional repair technicians and certified studios. Focused primarily on woodwind and brass instrument repair, the program is officially accredited by the International Professional Musical Instrument Repair Association (IPMIRA). It is open to individuals interested in pursuing a career in wind instrument repair, as well as current wind players.
Upon successful completion and assessment, participants will receive a course certificate jointly issued by JSMA and the Hong Kong Competitive Assessment Federation, and may also apply for a wind instrument repair certificate issued by IPMIRA. In addition, graduates will be eligible to register as a certified IPMIRA member, gaining international professional recognition.
A new Introductory Certificate is now available, designed for general wind players, tutors, and students. It provides foundational knowledge in instrument care and basic repair techniques, making the course more practical and accessible to everyday users.
