  5.1 Important Information
5.1.1 The Association reserves the right to amend the published competition regulations and events; any changes will be announced on the Association's website. The latest information published online shall prevail.
5.1.2 Competitions may be scheduled on non-holiday school days. The Association reserves the sole right to determine the dates, times, order of play, and venues for all events; participants may not raise objections to these arrangements.
5.1.3 The Association reserves the right to reschedule, modify, or cancel any competition arrangements as necessary.
5.1.4 Should any special circumstances arise that prevent the live competition from proceeding safely as planned, the Association reserves the right to postpone the event or alter the competition format (including, but not limited to, holding matches behind closed doors, conducting them via online video, or requiring the submission of video recordings) in order to complete the event.
5.1.5 The schedule for all competitions is determined by the Association, while the grouping of participants and the order of appearance are decided randomly. Participants must check in at the designated location at the time specified in the "Competition Notification"; failure to complete the check-in procedure within fifteen minutes after the scheduled time will result in disqualification.
5.1.6 If a participant or team is unable to attend the live competition during the time slot assigned by the Association due to valid and reasonable grounds, they may submit a request to change the date or switch to a recorded format before the specified deadline; please refer to [the relevant section] for application procedures and requirements : 「更改參賽時間規則及程序」All applications are subject to the feasibility of the event arrangements; the Association holds sole authority over these arrangements, and applicants may not raise objections. The Association reserves the right to make the final decision regarding the event schedule.
5.1.7 If, after a requested change to the live competition schedule, the newly arranged time still does not meet requirements and a switch to the pre-recorded format becomes necessary, such a request must be submitted before the deadline. Requests to switch the competition format made after the deadline will incur a surcharge—covering venue, adjudication, and administrative costs—equivalent to 50% of the relevant event's registration fee.
5.1.8 After checking in, participants should remain within the venue to await the competition; the Association reserves the right to disqualify any participant who fails to respond when called by a competition assistant at the scheduled time.
5.1.9 During the competition, participants must bring and present the required documents—such as relevant proof, original scores or copies, and other items listed in the "Competition Notification"—for verification by the Association. Failure to present these documents to the competition assistant during the scheduled performance time will result in a point deduction; in serious cases, the participant may be disqualified.
5.1.10 If the judges determine that they are able to assign a score or rating to a contestant, they reserve the right to signal for the performance to stop, and the contestant's score will not be affected.
5.1.11 No person (including contestants, parents, and teachers) may contact the judges before or during the competition. Any inquiries must be directed to the on-site competition assistants. Violators will be disqualified or asked to leave the venue.
5.1.12 The use of loudspeakers, electronic musical instruments, synthesizers, and audiovisual equipment is prohibited during the competition (except for designated categories). No power supply will be provided at any of the venues.
5.1.13 The competition venue provides only a piano and a music stand; all other instruments must be provided and arranged by the contestants themselves.
5.1.14 Arrangements regarding venues and instruments for certain designated categories will be communicated individually to the relevant participating groups via email.
5.1.15 All performances and accompaniments must be performed live (except for designated categories).
  5.2 Competition Piece
5.2.1 For all categories, the "chosen competition piece" must be completed within the time limit; please refer to the requirements and time limits for the pieces.: 「級別選曲及自選樂曲注意事項」。
    5.2.2

For solo categories, the performance time limit begins when the contestant takes the stage and a bell signals the start; a bell will also signal the end of the allotted time, at which point the contestant must stop playing immediately.

For ensemble categories, the performance time limit begins when the competing group is announced to prepare (including the setup of equipment on stage); a bell will signal the end of the allotted time, at which point the group must stop playing immediately without affecting the judges' scoring.

5.2.3 The judges reserve the right not to award a score if the piece performed by a contestant falls outside the scope of the competition.
5.2.4 Upon check-in, participants must submit a copy of the sheet music for their performance piece to the competition assistant for forwarding to the adjudicators; if the piece includes an accompaniment, the accompaniment score must also be submitted. If the piece includes lyrics, please submit them as well. Sheet music copies are not limited to standard staff notation; participants should submit the appropriate format required for their specific competition category. The Association reserves the right to retain these copies for record-keeping purposes. Failure to submit the sheet music may affect the adjudicators' scoring.
5.2.5 Participants must perform in accordance with the requirements specified in the score; the judges will determine whether any adaptations affect the overall standard of the performance.
5.2.6 If the selected piece requires accompaniment, contestants must make their own arrangements for an accompanist to perform with them. As the accompaniment is an integral part of the music—serving to complement the lead vocal or instrumental part—the accompanist's performance will affect the contestant's overall presentation.
5.3 Copyright of Musical Compositions and Scores
5.3.1 All musical pieces and scores used in the competition must be original copies or legally authorized versions.
5.3.2 The Association reserves the right to disqualify any contestant who violates copyright laws by using unauthorized photocopies or infringing musical scores; no refunds or compensation will be provided.
5.3.3 Upon check-in, participants must submit the original score for staff inspection and a copy for the adjudicators' reference. If using a digital score purchased online, valid proof of purchase must also be provided.
5.3.4 If the music performed by an ensemble is an original composition, self-arranged, or an adaptation, the group must submit a letter of authorization from the copyright holder or a copyright declaration stamped by the school or participating organization upon registration, to certify that the use complies with copyright laws.
5.3.5 If the piece performed by a solo contestant is an original composition, self-arranged, or an adaptation, the contestant must submit a letter of authorization from the copyright holder or a copyright declaration upon registration to verify that the use complies with copyright laws.
5.3.6 The Association reserves the right to make the final decision regarding matters related to sheet music and copyright. Failure to provide the required documents or information may result in the refusal of entry or disqualification.
