Connecting music with innovative technology, creating a new model of digital ensemble! This year, the Inter-School Music Competition introduces the e-Orch App category, allowing students to perform ensemble music with tablets, collaborate across instruments, and explore a brand-new digital orchestra experience.

Digital Orchestra Ensemble: One tap on the tablet to access instrument interfaces, supporting multiple voices for flexible rehearsals  
Competition + Education: Suitable for school practice, stage performance, and formal competition settings  
Cross-Instrument Collaboration: Diverse timbres from Chinese and Western instruments can be freely assigned, supporting different levels and ensemble needs

Inter-School Music Competition — e-Series Categories

1) e-Ensemble Division

  • Medium: Any music app (no brand/type restrictions)

  • Participants: Primary / Secondary, 10–30 students

  • Repertoire: One self-selected piece, must include at least 3 parts

  • Performance Time: 10 minutes maximum (including setup). A bell will signal the end, and teams must stop immediately

  • Scoring: Ensemble performance judged independently. Difficulty of repertoire affects scoring but is not compared across groups

  • Eligibility: Schools must use licensed, authorized music apps to register

 

2) e-Orch App Division

  • Medium: Only the e-Orch App may be used

  • Participants: Primary / Secondary, 10–30 students

  • Repertoire: One self-selected piece

  • Performance Time: 10 minutes maximum (including setup). A bell will signal the end, and teams must stop immediately

  • Scoring: Ensemble performance judged independently. Difficulty of repertoire affects scoring but is not compared across groups

  • Eligibility: Schools must purchase e-Orch licenses to register

 

3) e-Orch App + Instruments Division

  • Medium: e-Orch App combined with 1–4 traditional instruments

  • Participants: Primary / Secondary, 10–30 students

  • Repertoire: One self-selected piece

  • Performance Time: 10 minutes maximum (including setup). A bell will signal the end, and teams must stop immediately

  • Scoring: Ensemble performance judged independently. Difficulty of repertoire affects scoring but is not compared across groups

  • Eligibility: Schools must purchase e-Orch licenses to register
